Apart from base open days, the museum is only open to visitors by prior arrangement; even then visits are subject to base operational restrictions. Admission to the museum, which is located close to the main gate, is free. On occasion, the base includes an application form for a 90-minute base tour, which takes in the museum, for up to 35 people on its website: www.mod.go.jp/gsdf/crf/heridan/index.html
