The Aviation Museum of the Red Banner Northern Fleet, now the Museum of the Air Force of the Northern Fleet, was opened on August 20, 1976, in the year of the 40th anniversary of the creation of the first aviation formation in the Northern Fleet in the village of Safonovo (Guba Gryaznaya) on the site of the first airfield for seaplanes. Since 2013 – a branch of the federal state treasury institution of culture and art “Naval Museum of the Northern Fleet” of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
