The Belgian Aviation Preservation Association ASBL (BAPA), based in Gembloux, Belgium, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and display of historic aircraft that played an important role in Belgian and international aviation history. Founded and run by passionate volunteers, BAPA works to keep aviation heritage alive through meticulous restoration projects, static displays, and public exhibitions.

The BAPA (Belgium Aviation Preservation Association) has opened a small museum next to their restoration workshop. Visit can be made on Saturdays 10:00 – 17:00, but must be pre-arranged via their website www.bapa.aero.

Among the Belgian Aviation Preservation Association ASBL (BAPA)’s remarkable aircraft are the North American TB-25N Mitchell, a twin-engine bomber that served with distinction during and after World War II; the SNCASO SO.1221S Djinn, an early French light helicopter known for its unique cold-jet propulsion system; the Auster AOP.6, a British air observation and liaison aircraft used by the Belgian Air Force in the post-war period; and the de Havilland Vampire FB.5, one of the first jet fighters to enter Belgian service in the late 1940s.

Through its ongoing restoration efforts and educational outreach, Belgian Aviation Preservation Association ASBL (BAPA) continues to honor Belgium’s rich aviation legacy, ensuring that these historic aircraft and the stories behind them remain accessible for future generations.
