The museum was founded by Tomasz Kajkowski, a former professional soldier and passionate aviation enthusiast. It was officially established on 10 October 2017 by the decision of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage and opened to the public on 1 September 2018.
The museum’s collection includes hundreds of artifacts—from pilot uniforms, flight gear, decorations, and personal items, to documents, photographs, and memorabilia connected with Polish aviators serving in various air forces. Visitors can also explore an open-air exhibition featuring several military aircraft, including the Mirage III, MiG-21 SMT, MiG-23 MF, TS-11 Iskra, and Mi-2 helicopter.
In addition to original exhibits, Muzeum 303 features props and set pieces from the film “Dywizjon 303”, recreating scenes from RAF Northolt. The museum serves both commemorative and educational purposes, preserving the memory of Polish pilots and promoting knowledge about the nation’s aviation heritage.
Named after Lieutenant Colonel Jan Zumbach, one of the most famous Polish aces of WWII, Muzeum 303 stands today as an important site of remembrance and pride, celebrating courage, patriotism, and the enduring legacy of Polish airmen.
