Yak-23 was the first soviet jet in operational service of the Czechoslovakia Air Force, which recieved in 1949 total of 12 Jak-23 aircrafts. They served alongside the czech “Schwalbe” S-92 and CS-92 jets by the new-created Fighter (jet) Squadron nr 5 established at Milovice-Mlada in late 1950 for jet-pilot training purposes. HX-51 was restored in 1969 from incomplete, badly corroded airframe, without canopy, armament and equipment, salvaged at Aeroclub Kromeriz. | Phil Glover
