SPAD VII S.254 French Air Force
The genuine original aircraft of the greatest French ace of WWI, Georges Guynemer. Officially credited with downing 53 German aircraft, Guynemer’s greatest victories came in this Spad VII (named ‘Vieux Charles’ and with the famous Stork squadron emblem). Once he managed to fake a dogfight with an Albatros (his machine gun had seized) and succeeded in getting the German crew to surrender and land at a French airfield. Preserved at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace. | Rob Vogelaar
