de Havilland DH.9A F1010/C Royal Flying Corps
F1010 was one of 18 DH9As to be delivered to No.110 Sqn being financed by His Serene Highness, the Nizam of Hyderabad (the first time that anyone had funded an entire squadron). Aircraft were individually numbered but superstition ensured that F1010 became No.12A rather than 13. After attacking Kaiserslautern on 5th Oct. 1918 F1010 was forced down, the crew taken prisoner and the plane became part of the famous pre-WWII `Deutsche Luftfahrt Sammlung’ (Berlin Air Museum) on Invalidenstrasse. | Rob Vogelaar
