Hawker Siddeley Nimrod R.1 (wreck) XW666 RAF | Wouter Roerdink
Ditched into the sea at Moray Firth after an engine fire on 15-May-1995. The incident was infamously relayed to TV audiences via the rescue helicopters, who were at the scene of the incident before the Nimrod. All crew survived, and the joke persists that they barely got their feet wet before being rescued! Wreckage fished out of the sea and preserved.
